Lloyd A. Shabazz, M.D., F.A.C.P.

President and Medical Director

Lloyd A. Shabazz, M.D., principal investigator and consultant in Hematology/Oncology, believes the answer to defeating cancer lies in research.

Dr. Shabazz came to Delta in 1998 from the North Bay Cancer Center in California where he was the Medical Director. He joined Delta because he wanted to continue his research activities and immerse himself into direct patient care.

He received his medical degree from the University of California Davis, School of Medicine in Davis California. As a medical student, he was a Morton Levitt Research Fellow and received the Morton Levitt Research Scholar Award. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a Research and Clinical Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, San Diego and at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California.


Eugene Y. Chang, M.D., F.A.C.S

Eugene Y. Chang, M.D., F.A.C.S. Director of the Delta Surgical Oncology The Breast Care Center received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1993. He became interested in his subspecialty while studying surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he served as chief resident in 1998.

His three-year fellowship in Immunotherapy and Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, N.I.H. in Bethesda, Maryland, allowed him to treat major oncological cases. After completing his fellowship in 2001, he joined Delta Oncology in June 2001. He is guiding Delta Surgical Oncology / The Breast Care Center as the practice evolves from treatment for breast cancer to include all surgical oncology.

In addition to treating benign and malignant conditions of the breast, Dr. Chang also performs oncologic surgery of the colon, liver, pancreas, billiary tract, as well as soft tissue sarcoma. The Breast Care Center is comprehensive facility dedicated to treating all conditions of the breast. The services provided on site include mammography, ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound core needle biopsy, fine needle aspiration, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and mammosite radiation catheters. The center also boasts a dedicated staff of surgical oncologists, radiologists, and nurses.


Gohar Arslan, M.D.

Medical Oncologist

Gohar Arslan, M.D. joined Delta Hematology Oncology Associates in 2006. Doctor Arslan completed his internal medicine residency in 1996 at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center located in Brooklyn, New York. He did his Fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center located in Hyde Park, New York, finishing in 1999.

He joined Crozer Chester Medical Center, located in a Philadelphia suburb, where he practiced until deciding to join Delta Hematology Oncology Associates. He brings to this practice a wealth of experience which will benefit our patients.

Doctor Arslan is dedicated to cancer research and innovative treatments. He is a dedicated physician who will continue to extend himself to his patients and their families for the sake of assuring high quality care.


Sowjanya Naga, M.D.

Medical Oncologist

Sowjanya Naga, M.D. completed her Internal Medicine residency at Harbor Hospital Center affiliate of University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2000. She then went on to complete her Medical Oncology fellowship at Scott and White Hospital Texas A & M University in 2002.

She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by The American Board Internal Medicine. Her first position as a medical oncologist was at Texas Oncology and subsequently Rex Hematology and Oncology Associates, which is a hospital based medical oncology practice, in Raleigh, NC.

Dr. Naga has an integrative approach to her patient's physical, spiritual, and emotional well being. She has a particular interest in Breast Cancer. She focuses on the new and innovative therapies available for prevention and treatment of cancers and blood related diseases.

She states, “My goal is to inform and educate my patients about their illness and all the treatment options so they can make an informed decision satisfying their own needs and desires. I give them and their families the care and guidance I would expect myself to receive.”


Jabu Munalula, M.D.

Surgical Oncologist
Board certified in Surgery

Dr. Jabulani Munalula received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. in 2000. After completing his residency in general surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, he went on to complete a surgical oncology fellowship at the Institute for Cancer Care at the Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

While his focus during fellowship was on the management of advanced peritoneal disease with aggressive cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy, he received broad training in general surgical oncology. He has experience in the surgical management of benign and malignant thyroid disease and minimally invasive radioguided parathyroidectomy for hyperparathyriodism. He performs sentinel lymph node surgery for various malignancies including breast and melanoma skin cancer. Dr. Munalula also performs oncologic surgery of the breast, hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal systems, skin and soft tissue malignancies.

Dr. Munalula espouses an aggressive, multidisciplinary approach to palliative cancer care that utilizes innovative advancements in surgical practice for the control of symptoms related to various cancers and to maintain quality of life for patients with cancer.
